Alice's Wonderland

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland hits bookstores this month, and Alice is celebrating with her own home page. Create a pop-up white rabbit, print out an Alice coloring sheet or read Robert's interview on Alice. Pop-up fans can get a behind the scenes look at the creation of Alice.

Art through Picture Books: Stained Glass

A former children's librarian shares her lesson on stained glass in art and children's literature. Students gain a brief history on stained glass, compare illustrations in picture books, and explore various techniques for creating stained glass effects.

Designed for students 3rd-5th grade, though portions can be adapted to a younger or older audience.

Robert Sabuda in the classroom

A teacher in Fairfax County has created a Robert Sabuda guide. This seven page document includes biographical information, a bibliography, and suggestions for using various Sabuda titles, including The Blizzards Robe, Movable Mother Goose, and Tutankhamen's Gift.
