The Movable Book Society's pop-up book "Celebration" arrives!
After almost two years in the making, created with the devotion of volunteers from around the world, the Movable Book Society 10th Anniversary book "Celebration" has finally arrived.

| Although at Robert's studio the project has been considered "over" for some time, everyone there was amazed and delighted at how well the final book turned out. From the idea of a little "memento" to celebrate the MBS's 10th birthday came this extraordinary, pop-up limited edition.

Benedictine monk Matthew Paris displays his first "volvelle" from the mid- 1200's in a new pop-up designed by Robert's studio. The volvelle even spins around and is attached by string, just like Matthew's original!

Weeks were spent creating this reproduction of an extremely fragile 1770's Harlequinade turn-up book by Robert Sayer. Even the text was painstakingly "cleaned up" by hand to ensure legibility.

| A brave Little Red Riding Hood encounters a very dog-like wolf (didn't artist's use reference in the mid-1850's?!) from Dean & Son's series of first pop-up books from the 1862.

One of the most challenging pop-ups encountered at Robert's studio was this clown which spins around on a dowel. Dozens of preliminary studies were made in order to get this mechanism to function properly (and it was well worth it!).

We hope the late, great Geraldine Clyne would be thrilled with the reproduction of her great 1950's tribute to Mars. If we didn't know better we would have thought this was an original Clyne the printing and die cutting is so good.

| Cross the Atlanta with Columbus' fleet complete with string between the sails! This reproduction is part of the Kubasta's panascopic series, which included some of the largest pop-up ever produced.
