Welcome to the Jungle!
Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! (well, not exactly a lion, more like a panther!) You will find all of these characters and more in the thoughtful retelling of Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book. This massive pop-up book from Matthew Reinhart is packed with thundering elephants, treasure rooms in lost ruins, and fierce tiger attacks! This pop-up jungle adventure will be swinging into bookstores in October.

| Here is one of the early character sketches of Mowgli the Man Cub. |
Matthew wanted to get Shere Khan's ferocious face just right. We think he did a frighteningly good job! |
These sketches are an example of all the research Matthew has done to make all the animals looks anatomically correct, yet still have some personality. |

| We get our first glimpse of the gang in this early pencil sample that was sent off to the publishers and printers. |
This mighty monkey tower rises almost two feet from the page, making this pop-up the tallest structure Matthew has ever produced! |
Nothing is scarier than seeing a man-eating tiger lunge out at you from the page. |

| In this detail photo of a color sample for the monkey tower we find Mowgli getting a little carried away
|
This color sample showcases Matthew's vibrant cut paper collage and we get to see how the playful monkeys look with fuzzy flocking attached. Also notice how the some of the features in the composition have been refined since the earlier sample.
