Sometimes an idea for a pop-up card is difficult to execute in 3-dimensions. The idea of stars is wonderful, but how should the stars look? What should they do? Robert rejected the rough pop-up above because it looked strange having big stars at the top and little ones at the bottom.		The stars are re-designed to be more or less the same size. Now the pop-up in the card is more balanced and focused.		Color is added to the background on a diagonal. This will change too, as the diagonal seems to detract from the visual power of the pop-up. The finished card in an explosion of stars brings “Season’s Greetings!”

The Museum of Modern Art loved the Santa Claus in Robert’s book “The Night Before Christmas” that they asked him to make it into a card! This was a big challenge since the book is square and the card in rectangular.

Instead of walking through the house, Robert decided to put Santa tip toeing across a snowy rooftop.

The finished card with Santa bringing everyone a “Merry Christmas!”
